There are two qualities I’m forever grateful I got from my parents: (1) My Mom’s ability to talk to anyone and (2) My Dad’s incredible work ethic.
My Dad owned his own jewelry store, put in 18+ hours a day to provide for his family, and when I was 12, he owned his own Gold’s Gym—that’s where my passion for fitness began. My Mom had a strong work ethic too. Taking the train to work every morning at 6:30, then coming home to take care of us kids.
Somehow these two incredible people put up with me not doing well in school. It wasn’t for a lack of smarts, I just couldn’t bring myself to enjoy school. When I wasn’t competing in Basketball, Track, or becoming a 2X State Champion in Martial Arts, I had some side businesses going...
Every winter, I’d have houses hire me to shovel their snow. I also loved collecting baseball and basketball cards, determining how much they were worth, and selling them for profit. In High School, I’d charge my friends 10 bucks to give them haircuts.
But I was never really satisfied… it took years before finding a niche that gave me drive and a mission. I had 22 jobs before I was 24. Looking back, it all makes sense… I was working towards what I do now as the Founder and CEO of Loud Rumor, and I wouldn’t change a thing about how I got here.
